  i guess i need a costume ...
so anyways for those people not paying attention, halloween is now less then a week away.. and here in the chuck one of the radio stations holds an anual party.. it is this friday. an dit looks like mark and i are going..
shame the line up isn;t as good as previous years ..
but free tickets/pass whatever, is more then i'm willing to pass up..

now where to find a costume

Michael Moore Bought me a beer. . .
and he really did, and the show we saw was awesome..

got there a bit alte for membership appreciation night at the starlight room
so i missed the first band.. (i'll get back to them)

but the band that was playing when we came in was kick ass
and who wouldn't be with a name like Helper Monkey, mark bought a shirt, and they rocked our socks clean off!

the headliner for the evening was the Groovie Ghoulies, all i need to say, is that they started their set out with a cover of Daniel Johnstons "Devil Town" and it was kick ass, but then they continued to rock the fucking house.. could we ask for more? i doubt it.

okay back to the begining, the band we missed was the Dollyrots, the chick who fronts the band was working the merch table.. i was the only person who signed up for the mailing list.. i felt so bad i signed up twice.. and was then rewarded with two free pins, and a sticker.. (although i lost the sticker at O'Byrnes...) i also opted to pick up the record.. on yellow vinyl..

let me just say this, i was more intent on digging the album then anything else.. and back at my place all that transpired was listening to the record, 3 times, it reminds me of the ramones, bikini kill and early donna's all rolled into one..

i guess they were recently signed to lookout records.. i doubt they can do for the label what Green Day or Op Ivy did, but i think its a good star in kickign ass and making people remember why we all fell in love with SoCal punk in the early 90's to begin with ...

so once again, thanks for the beer Mr. Moore

  la la la la
so once again i've fallen in love,
this time with the polyphonic spree
really i loved them before
then forgot about our love... quite humerous

i had an urge to play some tripping daisy today
and i was listening to it, i began to wonder what ever happened to Tim.
then i remembered.. the polyphonic spree ...

and suddenly they made a whole lot more sence..
really they are a natural progression of what tripping daisy
is/was ..

i never did get to see tripping daisy live..
and they pretty much disapeared from most people's lives
just before "jesus hits like an atom bomb" came out..
and i haven;t even heard the slef titled album that they closed
the band with.. i'll track it down eventually though

the polyphonic spree however, i saw open for david bowie last year
and it felt like a gigantic loving cult of musicians, so much love..
so good as well..

did i mention i don't have a point today at all?

10.16.2005
  for mark..
its all about the old school.. but sometimes you just have to let it go.. and other times you just have to wait another couple years

woo?

  i'm not naked.. i swear
have i mentioned that i love rum?

i think they do as well..

and the next time i go to a HMV party at O'Byrnes.. i need to take my camera

10.13.2005
  i wonder..
sometimes things grab my attention
like yesterday when i deleted 35 Gig of mp3's from my workstation..
a full purge (although i have about 9 on the laptop, and it all backed up on an external drive) .. i noticed i have suddenly aquired another 30 Gig of video files.. now mind you that is not as many files..

mostly i just wonder how i have aquired so many files..

....

i've got nothing..

however i did watch the Flaming Lips "Fearless Freaks" documentary last night...
and it kicked ass...
i don't knoow why it took so long for them to explode... even more so then in 1994..
humm, anone know where i can get a copy of christmas on mars?

10.12.2005
Tupelo Honey would like to be added as one of your friends!
i highly doubt the headline to be true..

i'll blaime myspace.com ... as i have an account (seriously who doesn't)

so i opted to not add them as a friend.. and not just because the music is a wee bit trite

10.06.2005
was it art rock? was it even punk?

i had a bit of free time today, and since i spotted that list over on rateyourmusic, i thought i would put something online that really has no need to be online (like oh i dunno about 90% of what is on the internet, including say this blog).
so i give you without further ado.. a brief history and some downloads by Decades Of Elegy. media will be online within 24 hours.

10.04.2005
i didn't know that bootlegs counted
so anyways every now and again i like to search for stuff i have done in the past.. akin to how mark searches for everyones name to see what he can find... anyways, i digress i came across a list over @ rateyourmusic that i found mostly halarious, and true.. but number 71 stood out a little, since as far as i know, i'm the only person with an existing copy... check it out

also it is rated from 100 to 1, just posted in reverse... thanks to H.J. for pointing it out...
