i loathe you all
..?
Been a bad couple days in the music world, bass wolf billy passed away today (yesterday?) as did Derrick Plourde (check out mj's blog for links).
yeah. . . so thats about it for now.
mmm drink!
Bourbon Congratulations! You're 130 proof, with specific scores in beer (120) , wine (116), and liquor (78). |
Screw all that namby-pamby chick stuff, you're going straight for the
bottle and a shot glass! It'll take more than a few shots of Wild
Turkey or 99 Bananas before you start seeing pink elephants. You know
how to handle your alcohol, and yourself at parties. |
|
My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender: | You scored higher than 49% on proof | | You scored higher than 97% on beer index | | You scored higher than 97% on wine index | | You scored higher than 89% on liquor index |
|
why am i takign all of these crappy tests?
how did you do?
dude!
Advanced You scored 85% Beginner, 85% Intermediate, 81% Advanced, and 58% Expert! |
You have an extremely good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and
advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of
each of these three levels' questions correct. This is an exceptional score. Remember, these are commonly confused English words, which means most people don't use them properly. You got an extremely respectable score.
Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!

so maybe i'm not that much of an idiot i just play one in the bar?
Do it up!
best site ever!*
*may not actually be the best site ever, but will bring upon spontaneous laughter**
**may not bring upon spontaneous laughter
look a post!
despite what you may have heard, alas the rumor is not true.
the shins will not keep you warm while waiting for a bus.
however they will make you happy, especially when the cute girl sitting next to you is listening to bright eyes, but all you can muster up the courage to say is "can i borrow your lighter"
what the hell is going on i say.
however i'm still in a good mood form listening to the shins all evening.
the revolution
ahh saint paddys day was a glorious drunk filled evening that ended up with me passed out on a floor and waking up covered in cat hair.. always good times, flags were flying high and the revolution of the sandwich boards had begun!
from what i recall we had liberated this flag from some place that should not have had control over it, but alas it was stolen back in a dastardly game of "return the stolen sign and plant to where they came from" personally i know we were in the right, but that was probably the drunk thinking that.
today is chill day. tomorrow the world, err yeah the world.
if i only had plans
Well i miss the # 1 by about 20 seconds chill out to wait for the next bus (and i should have just waited the 5 minutes for the next #1) grab the 109, this my friends is a mistake, its a bloody milk run. Seriously 30 minutes from wem to my place, i could almost walk that distance in the same amount of time... Alas.
Looks like i'll be digging my new
job, its pretty chill, and that's always good. However it does allegidly annoy my brother, but I'll talk to him about it, whatever.
Sat down and gave this lovely 7" another spin today, it is one of the few singles that really shows off how overtly powerful the
Jesus Lizard really were, they could have taken on anyone, hell they pretty much did. its a shame that the most success came purly because of a split single with another great band, and most of you will know who that is without mentioning them, so i won't.
Teenage mutant party?
So, allegedly, hopes dreams and fairy dust can
NOT buy you two jugs of beer and a medium pizza..
odd how that goes, odd indeed.
Really it kind of sucks.
Nothing is what I've got.
Now
they provide a Gong Show!
So it has been a few days since I last updated my "Blog" not to much has been going down, honestly. No crazy adventures, no drunken escapades, nothing, just lots of sleep, it is rather odd.
Anyways Frank Millers
Sin City is looking cooler and cooler every day, they just released a second
trailer, and such, pretty good but no
Yellow Bastard in it.. tis a shame. You can catch up with the "old" trailer
here.
Now just to creep you out a bit
Mark wants to show you all his nipples, it may just be a ploy to try and get himself into
the Girls Room.
I wish that was I could Understand, alas I'm out for now.

Global Personality Test Results |
Stability (72%) high which suggests you are very relaxed, calm, secure, and optimistic.. Orderliness (20%) low which suggests you are overly flexible, improvised, and fun seeking at the expense too often of reliability, work ethic, and long term accomplishment. Extraversion (52%) medium which suggests you average somewhere in between being assertive and social and being withdrawn and solitary. |
personality tests by similarminds.com well how about that. . .
Joe and Monkey
its only funny, because well it is true
just one more
also: today march 4th.
happy birthday to evan dando
that is all
lookie lookie
and since I'm sending you over to read
Goats anyways, you should check out the short video clip of Peter Jennings when he was on the daily show, its so well worth your time, hell it was well worth mine.
And now onto other things, since I'm sitting here and not much else is going on I've been thinking about the term
"sellout" and how much of a mute point it is. When you start a band, you want to take over the world, sure no one truly believes that they will be the next U2 or Beatles or even Elliott Smith, but no one really wants to dabble in such obscurity for the sake of being obscure, if that was the case why not just take up painting water colours or wine tasting. Or for that matter start a blog where you bitch about nothing? So for your approval i submit a comic that makes me laugh.
that is all for now.
look ma! i do work!
Well i am now (although i start monday) gainfully
employed, full time at that.
i'm sure that there will be more posted later, as for now i'm going to have a cup of tea, and listen to the
Shonen Knife albums that i acquired
I shall not be moved.
Elliott Smith -
Speed Trials +2 7"
Woke up to this pretty much first thing this morning [read: afternoon], standing outside having a cup of coffee enjoying the mid-afternoon sun, made everything appear to be a little bit brighter. Also i think it may have woke someone up, but I was not concerned.
Teenage Fanclub & Jad Fair -
Words Of Wisdom and Hope C.D.
Grabbed this off of
Mark's Rio this afternoon, quite enjoying it. There are days when everything just feels like it is going okay, and this album pretty much takes care of that for you. It even has a very blatant love song
Crush on You that just makes me want to drink red wine and go sit in a fancy pub talking with ladies of the finer sex.
Shonen Knife -
Happy Hour, Heavy Songs, Lets Knife, Rock Animals, &
We Are Very Happy You Came5 albums, some of them finally being re-released here in North America. However they are not quite yet in my hands, but they will be soon, oh so very very soon. Alas not all of them, but a couple of them, as well as the last two .. I'm pretty stoked, and who wouldn't be? What i ask of you, is better then Japanese Pop Punk?
Record Shopping
So I meandered into FreeCloud today, after dropping off some resumes at Kingsway mall, had an interview for a management position, might even get the job, I find out on Friday. But I digress, I picked up some nice looking vinyl that I shall now share my thoughts on.
fIREHOSE -
Sometimes, Almost Always E.P. tracks include;
sometimes bw/ she paints pictures, rhymin' spielin'So anyways after doing some quick web searches I find that most copies of this E.P. have
song for the singer of R.E.M. instead of
she paints pictures, I find that to be rather odd, but hey I'm never one to complain about an oddity.
ANYWAYS, listening to the 3 tracks on the ole wheels of steal, made me feel like for 15 minutes that everything, everything, everything was alright with the world, and only then did it make sense to put on the other find today.
Shellac -
the Rude Gesture 7", tracks include
The Guy Who Invented Fire bw/ Rambler Song, Billiard Player SongNow there is nothing I enjoy more then finding 7" vinyl, specifically stuff that Steve Albini has personally had his hand involved with, so that makes this doubly more enjoyable for me, it also happens to be Shellac record #1 sort of fun. Of course it follows the Big Black feel, but it gets you wanting to rock pretty hard as well, not as experimental as
1000 Hurts, but you can feel it going in that direction. To quote the liner notes "
Shellac ages gracefully, imparting a subtle amber color to the finished piece witch intensifies over time" and at the time they meant the wood finish but in retrospect it could also be the band.
Also, note to the weekend: got very drunk, did a few things that i'm not overly proud of, mark asked everyone where his underware was, drank way to much red bull & vodka and can not be held responsible for anything that happened after i entered into the Catwalk.
for D
monkey methods: Bill Gates Strikes a Pose for Teen Beat Photospread, 1983
oh yeah it don't get much more funnier then that.. not on a tuesday.
